Misadventures in Restoring My 1965 Mustang

There was a first car a 1964 1/2  that was wrecked. For over a year I hunted for a fix up car that I could use the wrecked  Mustang as my parts car. After a friend told me of a Mustang in a paper called The Wooden Nickel). I checked it out . It was just what I was looking for, so I bought it! Took it home (half of it in the back of my truck ) It was a solid car, frame looked good, shock towers were good but ...."Where's the floor pans"?   It was easy two see that my work was cut out for me! First thing that needed to be done was fix the body an swap a lot of better parts off the other car!

This 65 Mustang at one time had been hit on the left rear quarter, a lot of the front end parts were missing, the wiring had been butchered beyond repair, windshield cracked, radio bezel was hacked, the doors were rusted through on the bottoms, an did I forget to tell you the engine didn't run? What about those missing parts that were robbed off of it over the years?  Guess that happens then a car goes through several owners that planned on fixing it up an just kept tearing it down, never getting to the rebuilding part of  the restoration before selling it to the next poor guy with the same good intentions!

After several months of exchanging an ordering parts, getting the engine to run ( barely ) being on a waiting list to get it at Mustang Corral.  4 months later I finally got "THE CALL" from Shawn to bring my car over!

So off to Mustang Corral for new body parts, floor pans, an hey guys can you rewire it for me too! And oh yea .... It don't seem to have brakes, be careful!"

Now its got NEW Floorpans, an undercoated! WoW! That hacked up radio bezel is fixed! Now i need to find me a RADIO! Goodbye! Damaged RearQuarter!   New Rear & Quarter Panel! All white parts came off the 64 1/2 car. Its looking lots better now!

Wow them guys at Mustang Corral did a great job! But now lets go an see what's in store next for us in what at times seemed to be misadventures of restoration!!
